Located in The Great Hills area of Seymour, Red Clover Farms dates back to 1918. It was started by great-grandpa J.Slinka & Sons, as a dairy & produce farm.

At Red Clover Farms, we believe that food should be organically grown in a natural way that supports biodiversity, cares for the soil & does not damage the environment. To do this we use no chemicals: no pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers.

We do everything we can to boost the microbial life in the soil, because all food starts there!

We manage our soils through crop rotation and natural conditioning. We keep fertility levels high by growing green manures that fix nitrogen in to the soil, cover-cropping, and applying compost. We even avoid waste by composting any surplus.

Each year we grow a varieties of herbs, vegetables and flowers. Our focus is on the highest nutrition per bite of deliciousness. We incorporate many different types of super foods as well!


Bee colonies gather nectar from our flowers, and contribute to the necessary pollination of many of our plants. We aim to grow more successions of flowering plants to feed our pollinating friends.


As growers, we have become skilled at outwitting the seasons. We built a hoop-house to warm our spring soils, bringing forward summer’s bounty.


We look forward to bringing you lots of goodness from our gardens in 2018!

What is a CSA?

Community-supported agriculture, commonly referred to as a CSA model, is a system that connects the producer and consumers within the food system more closely by allowing the consumer to subscribe to the harvest of a certain farm or group of farms. It is an alternative, socioeconomic model of agriculture and food distribution that allows the producer and consumer to share the risks of farming. The model is a subcategory of civic agriculture that has an over arching goal of strengthening a sense of community through local markets.

In short: people buy "shares" of a farm's harvest in advance and then receive a portion of the crops as they're harvested.
